Start here — how the plugin works and how to get your first Show scheduled.

Quickstart Guide

Once you have installed and activated the Radio Station plugin on your WordPress site, your WordPress Admin area will have a new Radio Station menu item with submenu pages. If you have a specific question, check the Frequently Asked Questions first — you may find the answer there.

Start on the plugin Settings screen to adjust the default Plugin Options to your liking: set your Radio Timezone and Language, your Streaming URL and Station Logo, and other global settings. From Settings you can also assign Automatic Pages and Views for your Program Schedule and other archive displays — but first you'll want to add some Shows to display in your Schedule.

Click Shows in the admin submenu, then “Add a New Show.” Give it a Shift timeslot and description, then Publish. View the Show page via the Show Permalink under the title (depending on your theme you may want to adjust the Templates used — see Displays). You can also assign different Images to Shows.

Next, check your Program Schedule page to see the Show displayed there too. Keep adding Shows until your Schedule is filled in. You can also add Schedule Overrides for one-off date and time blocks — fully or partially linked to an existing Show. In the free version, a recurring Override must be scheduled per timeslot; ' + PB + ' the PRO version supports day/monthly recurrence. Manage your Shows and other Station data further via Show Management.

Give some users on your site plugin Roles. Assigning Host/DJ or Producer to a user lets them be attached to a Show and edit it. You can also assign Show Editor if someone needs to edit all plugin post types without being a full site Administrator.

Add Widgets via Appearance → Widgets — also available as Shortcodes and Blocks. There are widgets for the Current Show or Playlist, Upcoming Shows, a Stream Player, Radio Clock, Schedule View, or Show List.

Radio Station has several built-in Data types: Custom Post Types for Shows, Schedule Overrides and Playlists, and Taxonomies for Genres and Languages. Most data values and display output can be overridden via Custom Filters. A Data API is available via REST and/or WordPress Feeds, with data accessible in JSON format.
